All four of us are hard at it today to get our house in Wilmington, NC ready to go on the market. We rose early and made our lists, and fortunately, we have a nice day to work – not too hot, with even a little breeze. On the lists today are:  cleaning and vacuuming the boys’ bedrooms and cars, vacuuming carpets to prepare for the carpet cleaners, replacing burned out bulbs, emptying trash cans, cleaning doors and door frames, weeding, repairing missing spindles on the front porch railings and touching up the paint, organizing and throwing out files we no longer need, gluing up a broken bathroom cabinet door, replacing missing shingles on the roof, cleaning ceiling fans and cobwebs, washing cabinet doors and fronts, scrubbing the laminate and tile floors, pulling down vines, cleaning the cat door, painting the front door and window trim, patching holes, dusting, and washing and folding clothes.

On the list for the next day or two day: painting several walls/rooms, having the carpets cleaned, selling some items on Craigslist, cleaning out the garage one more time, making up and sending out flyers to Realtor friends in the area, and putting up the for sale signs.

James is continuing his search for housing since he is planning to stay in Wilmington to finish a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at UNC Wilmington. He is working full time this summer again in the float pool of the local hospital as a CNA. Stephen made good progress last week toward completing his children’s literature course. He is working toward a Master of Library and Information Science degree at UNC Greensboro. They’ll both be back at it again tomorrow. But in the meantime, we’re glad to have their help on the home front.
